Simple Minds: Street Fighting Years (4xCD)

Street Fighting Years" is Simple Minds' eighth album. It was originally released on May 8, 1989 and reached number one on the charts in the UK and for the first time in Germany.

Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill and Michael MacNeil received support in the studio from some high-profile colleagues, including Police drummer Stewart Copeland and Manu Katché. There's also a guest contribution from Lou Reed.

Milestone celebrates anniversary
Last year Simple Minds celebrated the 30th anniversary of their classic "Street Fighting Years". With some delay, the Scottish rock icons present the reissue in 2020 as well as two deluxe editions for the anniversary.

For the reissue, "Street Fighting Years" was remastered by Simon Gibson at the famous Abbey Road Studios.

The album is now available again on CD, as a deluxe double CD with additional bonus disc with B-sides, alternate versions and remixes, as well as a 4-CD set with the album, the bonus disc and a previously unreleased concert recording from Verona in 1989 on two additional CDs. The set also includes a booklet with new "sleeve notes" by Daryl Easlea and extensive interviews with the band members and album producer Trevor Horn.
