Ritter, Josh: Bright's Passage (6xCD)

Josh Ritter's 2011 novel ‘Bright’s Passage’ is now being released as a five CD audio book with a bonus music CD!

Josh himself reads the entire novel while the music disc features a previously unreleased 5-song session that Josh recorded with friends at the Rare Book Room in Brooklyn. The theme for the music session is ‘songs about angels’ as related to the central narrative of ‘Bright's Passage’. The line-up for this session: Ritter, Chris Thile (Punch Brothers), Tift Merritt, and Josh Kaufman (producer of the 2012 EP ‘Bringing In the Darlings’).

The novel follows a young, widowed veteran of the First World War, Henry Bright, as he and his infant son, along with an unlikely guardian angel flee from a forest fire and Bright’s cruel in-laws. The novel is at times suspenseful and kinetic, quiet and eerie, and often humorous.
